The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is a general university hospital of great prestige whose six centuries of existence make it the senior hospital institution of the Spanish State. Its activities are centred mainly in Barcelona although it also provides coverage for the rest of Catalonia, and has a major presence and prominence in the rest of Spain.
